About the Opportunity
The Landscape Architect is responsible for drawing up plans using CAD software, site surveyance, being a client liaison, writing and analyzing reports, drawing up contracts, and working collaboratively with other planners and engineers.
Main Responsibilities Include
- Assist with all aspects of project development including conceptual design, construction documents, construction details and construction administration
- Assess physical and environmental features of a site; assess planned projects for opportunities and constraints, and review for code compliance
- Design, develop and modify drawings
- Integrate innovative sustainable design strategies and construction methods into project work
- Attend project team meetings
- Conduct research on various aspects of project development and prepare site review and analyze documents
- Carry out special projects and assignments that contribute to the operation of the firm, such as assistance with marketing materials and development of office documents
- Assure Vierbicher document standards are met and archive documents appropriately
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of landscape architecture principles and practices
- Knowledge of principles and practices of research and data collection
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to produce presentation quality graphics and renderings
- Ability and interest to engage in all aspects of project development and design operations
- Ability to work well independently and in multi-disciplinary teams
- Ability to work closely with clients and other stakeholders
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or above in landscape architecture is preferred
- 2 or more years of experience is preferred
- Project Management experience is preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office, Photoshop or InDesign and other design tools
- Experience in preparing technical specifications
- Experience in developing construction details
License or Certification Requirements
PLA (Professional Landscape Architect) license in the State of Wisconsin is preferred
Physical Requirements
- This position requires sitting at a desk and working at a computer for long period of time
- Some work may include field work
- This position requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
PPE Requirements
Hi-Visibility clothing should be worn on job sites and in the field as necessary
